Heartbreak & Hope: Saying Goodbye to Young Royals

By: Robert Jerome Pagan

Young Royals Season 3 has hit me right in the feels! Those first five episodes? They're a rollercoaster of emotions, leaving me both on the edge of my seat and clutching my heart in anticipation. But with this being the final season, I can't help but feel a bit of sadness knowing it's almost time to say goodbye to this Swedish gem on Netflix.

Let's rewind a bit. When Young Royals burst onto the scene, it stood out in a crowd of queer TV shows. While others came and went, this one held its own, offering more than just a typical love story. Sure, at its core, it's about a prince and his popper, but it's also a deep dive into issues like classism, racism, and homophobia. Plus, it's got that classic coming-of-age vibe we all love.

Season 2 ended with a twist that left us hoping for a fairytale ending, but Season 3? It's not holding back. Love isn't all sunshine and rainbows here; it's messy, complicated, and downright hard sometimes. But isn't that the reality of life?

And let me tell you, the performances? They're top-notch. From the leads to the ensemble cast, each actor brings their A-game, making us laugh, cry, and everything in between. And while the cinematography is stunning, it's the raw emotion on screen that really steals the show.

Now, don't get me wrong, Young Royals isn't all drama and tears. There are plenty of lighter moments and even some laughs along the way. But don't be fooled; this show isn't afraid to tackle the tough stuff, whether it's the struggles of the class system or the weight of societal expectations.

With the first five episodes already out, we're left hanging until March 18th for the finale. And let me tell you, the anticipation is killing me! Where will the journey take us? What will become of our beloved characters? I can't wait to find out.

But before I go, let me address the elephant in the room: Willy and Simone. Yes, they have amazing chemistry on screen, but no, they're not dating in real life. Let's give credit where it's due: they're actors, and they're killing it.

So, as we gear up for the final episodes of Young Royals, let's cherish the memories, the friendships, and the love that have made this series so special. It's been a wild ride, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Long live Young Royals!
